Simple Connection
The connection has been simplified as much as possible to reduce potential problems caused by unstable power supply, unreliable cable, or inappropriate installation. The KineMON has only one 14-pin MOCO socket for both power and video signals, which eliminates the need of separated power supply. Using one Kine video cable connecting TERRA and KineMON, the camera powers the monitor automatically. KineMON has a standard 1/4’’ threaded hole and two pin-holes at the bottom to fasten itself firmly to camera in any case, while most other monitors have only one 1/4’’ threaded hole. Using appropriate accessories, KineMON meets the different needs in the typical scenarios:
KineMON Swivel Mount: Allow the monitor to be mounted directly to the front of the camera body or TERRA top plate;
KineMON Coldshoe Mount: Allow the monitor to be mounted directly to any location with coldshoe socket. There are two coldshoe sockets — at the front or the end of wooden TERRA top handgrip;
TERRA EVF Mount for Shoulder Pack: TERRA EVF Mount has pins designed for pinholes of KineMON so that the monitor can be fastened on EVF Mount. This is for shooting with shoulder pack or top handgrip.
Interface simplification and pinholes provide highest degree of freedom while minimizing possibility of malfunction at the same time.
Solid but Lightweight
The case is made of metal for better heat dissipation. More importantly, it increases the durability over other plastic monitors, and shows better performance in harsh condition of filmmaking scenarios. Except the cable side, the edges of monitor is ultra-narrow taking less space around the screen. You can also add a 5-inch KineMON sunhood to facilitate shooting in bright condition. At the same time, the body weight is only 260g, the dedicated Kine Video Cord (30cm) 60g, swivel mount 40g, coldshoe mount 50g, which barely cause any extra pressure on the camera.
Superior LCD Panel
As a monitor for cinema camera, the spec of LCD panel is superior: 16M colors (RGB 24-bit depth), 1920×1080 physical resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, full viewing angle, 500nits brightness and LED bias light.
Function Buttons
To show the conciseness in design, there are only essential function buttons such as Peaking Focus, False Color, Clip Guide, Backlight adjustment and power switch on KineMON. Since other parameters have been optimized to match TERRA before delivery, all you have to do is to connect the Kine Video Cord to TERRA.
